1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Frametaro ("Frametaro," "we," "us," or "our") concerning your access to and use of the website located at https://frametaro.com and its associated web tools (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using any part of the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you are expressly prohibited from using the Service and must exit immediately.
2. Eligibility and Lawful Use
You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum legal age required in your jurisdiction) to use Frametaro. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you possess the legal capacity to enter into these Terms and that your use will comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.
3. Description of the Service
Frametaro provides free, browser-based media utility software including:
- Video Compressor: Tools to adjust video bitrates, frame rates, and resolutions to reduce digital file size.
- Video Converter: Tools to remux containers (MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV) or transcode streams via browser media engines.
- Video Upscaler: Tools to scale video resolution using standard interpolation or on-device WebGPU machine-learning models.
The Service is provided free of charge for personal and lawful commercial utility workflows, without requiring account registration.
4. Technical Requirements and Hardware Limitations
Frametaro operates primarily using modern browser capabilities, including the WebCodecs API, WebAssembly runtimes, and WebGPU graphics pipelines. As a result:
- Performance depends directly on your device’s available CPU, RAM, GPU, and browser engine compatibility.
- Older browsers or devices lacking hardware video decoding/encoding or WebGPU support may experience degraded performance, reduced feature availability, or conversion failures.
- Processing high-resolution or lengthy videos requires sufficient client memory; your browser may terminate intensive processing jobs if system memory limits are reached.
5. User Content, Intellectual Property, and Zero-License Model
You retain sole and exclusive ownership of all files, videos, audio, images, and data that you select or process through the Service ("User Content").
Because Frametaro executes all media decoding, processing, and encoding locally within your web browser sandbox:
- You do not grant Frametaro any copyright license, ownership interest, or right to use, reproduce, modify, display, or distribute your User Content.
- Frametaro does not collect, retain, view, or transmit your User Content across external servers.
- Your User Content is never used, indexed, or analyzed by Frametaro to train or fine-tune public, commercial, or private artificial intelligence models.
6. User Responsibility and Warranties
You are solely responsible for all User Content processed through Frametaro on your device. By selecting or processing media, you represent and warrant that:
- You own the media or hold all necessary licenses, rights, and permissions to process, alter, or re-encode it;
- Your processing of the media does not infringe or violate any third party’s copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, privacy, or publicity rights;
- The media does not violate applicable laws or contain unlawful, harmful, or defamatory material.
7. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the Service:
- In any manner that violates applicable federal, state, local, or international laws or regulations;
- To process content depicting child sexual exploitation or abuse, non-consensual imagery, or violent extremism;
- To reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the web application’s source code beyond lawful fair-use rights;
- To introduce viruses, trojan horses, worms, logic bombs, or other malicious material into the website;
- To attempt unauthorized access to, interfere with, damage, or disrupt any parts of the website, its hosting infrastructure, or connected networks;
- To scrape, index, or harvest site content using automated scrapers or bots in a manner that degrades service performance for other users.
8. Output Accuracy and Disclaimers
Video compression, conversion, and upscaling are inherently lossy or heuristic computational processes:
- No size or quality guarantees: Frametaro does not guarantee that a video will compress to an exact byte count, achieve a specific quality score, or preserve absolute visual fidelity under aggressive settings.
- Codec compatibility: Frametaro supports standard containers and common codecs (such as H.264/AVC, WebM/VP8/VP9, and AAC). Uncommon, proprietary, or corrupt media streams may fail to decode or remux.
- AI super-resolution: AI upscaling uses neural networks to approximate missing high-frequency details. It does not restore optical detail that was not present in the original capture and may introduce artifacts on low-quality source video.
9. Service Availability and Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time without notice. We are not liable if any part of the Service is unavailable at any time or for any period due to maintenance, system failures, or hosting disruptions.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or course of performance. Frametaro does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Frametaro, its developers, operators, or contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages—including without limitation loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses—arising out of or relating to your access to, use of, or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Frametaro and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your infringement of any third party's rights in connection with User Content processed on your device.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [JURISDICTION_GOVERNING_LAW], without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be instituted exclusively in the relevant competent courts of said jurisdiction.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms at our discretion. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service following posted revisions signifies your agreement to the modified terms.
